“…God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
Reconciliation means a restoration to the divine favor of God. It is an exchange of our faults and sins for God’s atonement in Jesus Christ. In other words, God used Jesus to restore His relationship with us. God doesn’t count our sins against us, but long for interaction and communication with us because of what Jesus has done.
The Message Bible says: “God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing.”
God made peace between the world and Himself. No longer is He keeping an account of our sins. And now He gives us the assignment of the preaching this message of our restored relationship with God to others. So preach on.
I have a restored relationship with God in Christ and I am to tell others that they are included too if they will believe on Jesus.
