Only God and you can tell what is inside your heart. Only you two can know what is really going on in your life. Pastors, preachers, friends and family don't really know your heart. Only God does. And only you can allow Him to purge you of what doesn't belong in your life.

You know what impurities you have. The Holy Spirit is the One who convicts the heart of impurity, and if you stop for a moment, that thought will immediately pop up in your mind. If you're honest with yourself and try not to explain it away, you'll know immediately what you feel conviction about.

When you go to God about those things and allow Him to reach into your heart and purge you of the root of those impurities, you'll feel the cleanness of God's purifying. You'll probably also cry a bit. If so, don't worry. It's normal!

Sometimes we feel remorse over our impurities. Sometimes we don't want to let them go, so we cry. Sometimes we feel bad for having them in the first place, so we cry.

There is nothing wrong with crying, even if you're a man, because what are tears but salt water designed by God to purify the eye? Think of that! Producing tears is an action that the body does when it wants to release raw emotion. It purifies your eyes and allows whatever is on your heart to move from the inside to the outside. It purges you.

After crying, how do you feel? Cleaner. Like you've emptied yourself of some of the raw emotion. You feel better. Well, that's just the physical part. When you truly release the impurities to God, He goes further and digs into your soul to scrub it clean. And nothing feels as clean as being flushed of impurities by your heavenly Father.

Have you ever heard people say they felt like a burden was lifted from their shoulders after encountering God this way? You can bet that what was really happening was something called purging. God was purging them of impurities and of all the miserable emotions that came along with them!

Don't be afraid to go to God with your impurities. Don't be afraid to confront what shouldn't be in your life. You can't move forward unless you get out the junk. That's just a fact. Once you decide to stop the rot, you'll be free and clean, able to move forward in your life, break the power of natural law and receive from God once again.

Every Time You Go to Church, You'll See Something in Your Life That Needs Tending To
I'm a believer in attending church. There is nothing like a group of people who are totally dedicated to God's work coming together under the roof of a building! There is power in that kind of unity, and I believe you should always attend services that are held in your church.

If you're tuned in to what is going on, I can assure you that each and every time you attend church, you will find something in your life that needs fixing. Don't get under condemnation about it. Fix it!

It really is pretty simple. As things come up in your life, as you notice things that need fixing, fix them! As a Christian, you're growing in the maturity and stature of God, so you're going to find impurities in your life. It's essential to your progress to recognize those impurities and purge yourself of them as they come up.

Progress Isn't Possible in a Person Who Doesn't Recognize Impurities
A lot of people refuse to check themselves out for impurities. I call the stuff that keeps making them stumble defects. They need the restoring hand of God. I examine myself for defects on a regular basis.

If I don't, they can creep up and mess up what I'm trying to do for God. So I say, "Lord, open the closets that I haven't seen inside of me, because if there are skeletons in there, I want to know about them so that I can get them out."

When we become introspective and examine ourselves, we give God the opportunity to help us grow. Personal growth can happen literally on a daily basis if you take time to examine your heart and your motives in situations.

Although there are times in your life that you will feel dedicated to growing at a fast rate, for the most part you should exercise a little introspection every day.

I know for some people that is hard because they don't want to think about what is really going on. But if you need something from God, I suggest you do it. Regardless of what they say, ignorance is not bliss. It's just plain stupid.

There is nothing more stupid than choosing to be in denial to the truth. You can't rightly complain about your situation if you're not willing to do something about it. You have to face something if you want to change it.

If you're sick today and want to be healed, you've got to face the fact that the devil is attacking your body. You've got to face the fact that there is more to getting healed than just being saved.

You've got to face the fact that faith matters. You've got to face the fact that forgiveness matters. You've got to face the fact that fruit matters. You have to face the fact that what you do really does matter.

Denial is a trap Satan uses to keep you from the truth. And it is an easy trap to fall into because, let's face it, who wants to look at his own faults? Who wants to change?

The flesh wants to stay the same and harbor resentment toward this or that one and explain away why this doesn't work and that doesn't work, but when it comes down to it, the truth is that denial limits progress.

Denial stifles success. You can't win a battle if you never face it. If you don't recognize the defects or the impurities or you live in a state of denial, you'll never come to that point where God can really work within you to the fullest extent.
