This special secret is the key to everything
God has given to His family. And the greater our grasp of it,
the greater our ability to receive His promises.

Have you ever known a secret that was begging to be told? A secret so wonderful you couldn't wait to share it? Doesn't knowing something important that others don't know give you an advantage—even a strange and satisfying sense of superiority?

God has shared just such a secret with His own family. No one else can comprehend it. Others have heard about it, but they cannot grasp its meaning. This secret is sacred—it's the key to everything God has given to us.

It's a truth that gives us the advantage in life. And the greater our grasp of it, the greater our ability to receive His promises. We find this secret unveiled in Colossians 1:26-27.
The sacred secret which had been hidden away from the ages and from the generations but now hath been made manifest unto his saints—Unto whom God hath been pleased to make known what is the glorious wealth of this sacred secret among the nations, which is Christ in you the hope of glory (Rotherham).
From the beginning of time God had a hidden secret that even the angels did not understand. The prophets of old longed to see into the wisdom of God's plan. Though some saw glimpses from time to time, no one understood the depth of what God was doing.

This sacred secret was His wonderful plan to receive all who would come to Him in faith as His sons or daughters. John 1:12 reveals He has given us the legal right and empowered us to become His children: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."

God not only desired for us to be part of His family, He also promised to forgive our sins and give us His righteousness. He then promised He would dwell in our hearts, fill us with His own power and glory, and give us authority in the earth through the power of Jesus' name.

We find facets of the sacred secret were revealed through the prophet Jeremiah hundreds of years before the New Testament was ever written:
This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, "Know the Lord," for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.
(Jer. 31:33-34)
Now that's good news! God has promised to forgive us and not remember our sins at all. Others may remember and even bring up our past failures, but God never will. And those who want to be like Him will not remember them either. This promise of forgiveness is extended to everyone.

It's wonderful to realize that every person can personally know God and walk with Him daily. He does not respect one person above the other—He will respond to you as quickly as He will to me or to anyone else who comes to Him in faith. In His covenant with us God has promised that His law, His Word, His love and His power have been written in our hearts and souls. He has promised that He will be our God, and we shall be His people.
