The Bible puts a very high value on the elderly. Notice this Scripture: "Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD" (Lev. 19:32 NIV).
God commands the young to show respect to the elderly and says it's one way that they can reverence God. In most cases wisdom comes with age. The experience of the elderly is valuable to the young.
The Bible says that the older women are to teach the younger women (Titus 2:4). This is because they have experience and wisdom as a result of having walked through challenges and seasons of this life
"Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life" (Prov. 16:31 NIV).
"The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old" (Prov. 20:29 NIV).
The Bible says that your gray hair (or age) is a crown of splendor. Your age declares, "I've lived a long time and I've seen things come and go; I understand some things from hindsight or experience."
You are of great value and have much wisdom to offer. You must also realize that God wants to use you and has a plan and purpose for the remainder of your life. Don't allow the wisdom you've attained over the years to be wasted. Find out what the Lord wants you to do and be a blessing to your church and society.
