I'm not sure I believe that there is supernatural power outside of God. Do witches, mediums, and fortune-tellers really have power?

There are some people in this occupation who deceive and have little, if any, supernatural power. However, there are those who have tapped into a supernatural source of power which is not of God.

Many Bible-believing Christians deny the existence of supernatural power outside of God. The truth of the matter is that there have been supernatural manifestations outside of God throughout history. Notice these Old Testament Scriptures:
There shall not be found among you anyone that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord; and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
(Deut. 18:10-12 KJV)
The Bible does not deny the existence of these people, nor the power into which they tap. It does, however, tell us to stay away from people who do these things and from the source of power from which they work.

God does not tell us to stay away from these people and the power that they tap into because He does not want us to receive supernatural help. He tells us to stay away from these people because he knows the source from which they are drawing is the devil and his powers.

God knows the end result of people doing business with the devil; they always get burned. That is why He tells us to have nothing to do with these types of people and the power of the devil.

God has made a greater power available to us. That is the power of the Holy Spirit. Our power is greater than the devil's power (1 John 4:4), and more diversified (1 Cor. 12). I don't know about you, but I want the real thing.
