Ezekiel 28:13-15 says:
You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.
(Eze. 28:13-15)
This passage is talking about Lucifer (A.k.a., satan, the devil), who was one of God’s angels. Lucifer was the worship leader over the entire universe. He had special musical abilities and even musical instruments built into his body. It appears that Lucifer was the ultimate bandleader and worshipper before the throne of God.

Why does the devil despise a worshipper? Why does the devil hate it when you worship and love it when you breakdown? He thinks that you are supposed to Breakdown when you are going through a difficult time, but you can be a consistant worshipper and one who is Breaking-through instead.

Isaiah 54:1 says, “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud…” When you are barren in your life, when nothing seems to be working right, you can begin to “Break forth into singing, and cry aloud…” This is telling us that when you shout aloud for joy, when you cry out, when you are joyful, and when you greatly rejoice, it becomes your announcement that says, “I’m breaking-through by my worship and praise, and I’m not breaking down!”

In 2 Chronicles 20, enemy armies threatened King Jehoshaphat and his people. But the Bible said, “And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.” When it came time for battle, the King “appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” They could have sent out their armies with all their weaponry first. But instead, they sent out the worship team. The enemy armies became so confused that they destroyed each other.

Sometimes, when a Christian faces a great difficulty in life, they become so emotionally moved by fear that they are ready to double up their fists and fight.  Not often enough do they worship in the midst of adversity.  Those problems then weigh on the mind and can drive a believer to a place of giving up, followed by a breakdown.

Psalm 32:7 “You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.”  When the cares of this life try to press us, or pressure us into a breakdown, we are to sing songs to the Lord that declare our deliverance. Singing has been designed to bring about the birthing of the break-through you need at any given moment.

Therefore this is the conclusion:  Why does the devil hate it when you worship and love it when you breakdown?  I believe it is because the devil is jealous of you. He despises you for being able to worship God, and because he can’t.

But, if you can worship, and yet refuse to worship, then that tells me that you may be headed for a breakdown instead of a break-through.  Jesus has paid the price for your break-through.  The only thing keeping you from breaking through is your refusal to break forth into singing and worship the Lord your God.

So, the next time things get a bit rough for you, instead of sitting there discouraged and thinking that I might as well give up, why don’t you begin to give God praise.  And when the devil tries to mess with you, telling you how unworthy you are… you can rise up as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and tell him this… “devil, if I listen to you and give up now, I may break-down just before I break-through. So I think I’ll just go ahead and break-forth into singing and rejoice!”

Know this: today, your breakthrough is on its way! …Think about it
