Our children were not an accident that just happened. Our children were a product of Jerry and mine's love for each other. We are a product of God's love.
As a parent, when I began to see how much I love my children and how much I love my grandchildren, I had a whole new revelation of how much our Heavenly Father must love us.
When our first grandchild, Mark James, came along, I held that baby in my arms in that hospital, and I wept buckets of tears. They streamed down my cheeks. I did not know there was that kind of love in the world. I cannot explain it to you. You have to be a grandparent to understand this kind of love.
When my children were growing up, if they spilled Kool-Aid on the floor, they got in trouble. And they helped me clean up the mess. But when the grandchildren do it, I react differently. "It's okay, Honey, Mimi will buy new carpet." It's just different.
I began to see the love of Father God when I had my own children and grandchildren. It doesn't matter what we do; it doesn't matter how we mess up; it doesn't matter how many spills we make, He just says, "It's okay, Honey," and pulls us right back to His bosom and loves us even more.
