I'm frustrated with the decisions of some of my local government officials. As a Christian, what can I do?

Every citizen has the right to get involved in the political process. From a natural point of view you can become involved in the party of your choice and vote.

However, in the spiritual realm, the most productive thing you can do is to pray for those who are in office.
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth....

Therefore I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
(1 Tim. 2:1-4,8)
Notice we are told to pray for those who are in positions of authority.

This includes governmental officials, your boss, pastor, and others. The Bible states that by praying for these people we will have a quiet and peaceable life. This implies that our prayers will change (for the better) the one for whom we pray.

No matter who is in a position of authority, we can lift that person to God and ask Him to give this individual wisdom and understanding to rule or supervise.

If the individual is wicked and deceitful, God will expose him (or her) and put a good-hearted person in that position. We need to pray and ask God to perform His will in our local and national governments.
