"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek" (Rom. 1:16).

"Where is the blessing, Lord?" There are some people who are in a position right now where they're saying, "Lord, you know I believe your Word, but it doesn't seem to be working!" (it could be you). I have been hearing about healing for a long time, yet for some reason I don't seem to get it. What is wrong?"

Sometimes the answer is just a simple adjustment in our believing. Romans 1:16 says of the gospel that "... it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth...."

When you say "Lord, I believe" what "I" are you talking about? Is it your mind, or are you talking about your heart? Let's take a closer look at what Paul says in the aforementioned verse of Scripture in that regard.

First of all, Paul says that he is not ashamed of the Gospel. Why? Because the Gospel or the Word of God is the power of God. Hence, we can say that the Word is the power. The Word is the power unto salvation for everybody that believes.

Look at Romans 1:16 in the Amplified Version:
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God's power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death]to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
The Word of God is God's power working. The Word is working. Hold fast to that.

In Acts 20:32, we see what Paul says about the Word of God. He says, "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."

He handed them over to the Word of God's grace, because the Word is able to build them up, and give them an inheritance. We know that our spirit man is not all that different from our physical body.

Just as you put food in your physical body for strength, you need to put spiritual food in your spirit man for spiritual strength. So when you are meditating on the Word of God your spirit man is getting built up. The Word is able to build you up.

Then, Paul also says the Word is able to give you an inheritance. Jesus left us a will that defines our inheritance. It is the New Testament. In it you will find many things that we've inherited.

First of all, there is financial prosperity. The terms of which are good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over. That is what you can read in Jesus' will. Another part of our inheritance is physical prosperity, known as healing for our body.

We've also inherited soundness of mind and safety. We are preserved because of our inheritance. Our inheritance is prosperity in every area of life. We obtain it by meditating in the Word of God, because the Word is the power that brings God's blessings into our life.
