From infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
(2 Timothy 3:15)
You are a woman by birth and a wife by choice, but you are a mother by blessing. As your children’s parent, it is your responsibility to provide a spiritual heritage for them.
Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Children must be trained to live the Christian life.
Loving Jesus was always a way of life for me. All the memories I have of my childhood are within the context of a home that was full of love because God was there.
It was a place where the Word of God was continually being read, taught, and experienced. Because of that, when I became a teenager, I could never drift too far away from my spiritual roots.
From the time your children are born, their spirits are alive unto God. When you talk to them about Jesus and share God’s Word from the beginning, spiritual things will become as natural to them as earthly things are to other children.
When your children fall down and get scraped, they’ll know that the first thing to do is pray. God will be real to them because God’s Word has been planted in their hearts.1
Be alert to any needs your children may have today, and pray with them about those matters right on the spot. As you incorporate this practice into your everyday living, it will become the natural thing for your children to do to involve God in their lives.
