“But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
In natural life, when we are thirsty, we drink and satisfy the thirst, but we will soon be thirsty again. But those who drink the water that Jesus gives them will never become thirsty again. That’s because the water He gives becomes an effective spring inside of them that gushes out eternal life continually.
The Message Bible says: “Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life.”
An artesian well is one that needs no pumps or artificial means of stimulation. It is driven from within and never stops producing water. Our salvation in Jesus Christ becomes a continual source of eternal life, flowing in us and through us every day.
I trust in Jesus for He has saved me and placed a well of eternal life in me.
