Accelerate Your Progress

by Terri Savelle Foy | Uncategorized

“Like sands through the hourglass . . . so are the days of our lives.” I know, it’s deep. But the truth is, another year just flew by!

This is my favorite time of year because I get to celebrate what God has done all last year and begin praying, strategizing, and planning my next year.

I can’t help but look back over the previous 11 months and ask myself, “Did I accomplish all that God wanted and all I set out to do this year?” Or was it just a repeat of the year before? How do you answer those questions?

For many people the end of the year is a just reminder of all the things that didn’t happen. I want to help you come to a place in your life where you can celebrate with your party hat and confetti on New Year’s Eve because you accomplished every goal you set! I call it “succeeding on purpose.”

How would you like to not only achieve your goals next year but accelerate your progress? The word accelerate means to hasten the progress, to cause to move faster, to speed up and to enable to complete a course in less than usual time.

That’s exactly what has happened in my life over the past 5 years. I give God all the praise for what He has done and for what He’s taught me about acceleration. Recently, I was looking at some of our ministry reports from 2009. Since then, visits to our website have increased almost 600%. That’s acceleration! Views of our weekly teaching video have increased 1,400%! That’s acceleration! It’s dramatic to see the number of people who are overcoming their past and pursuing their God-given purpose. I’m grateful for you and your support that makes it possible to reach so many.

God wants your progress to accelerate!

At our annual ICING Women’s Event, I shared a message about each step I have taken to see the increase we are experiencing in every area of our ministry. Remember, God is no respecter of persons. He just expects us to do what He tells us to do in order to have what He says we can have.

Instead of thinking of how you can be debt-free 10 years from now, God has a way of speeding things up. What could take 10 years, He can accomplish in one! But I believe there are certain steps you must take in order to experience this kind of acceleration.

Let me give you a quick summary of some of the points from this important teaching on 7 C’s to Accelerate Your Progress.

The first C I believe most people neglect (and it happens to be the most important) is Commitment to Think. Most people never sit quietly and just think. When was the last time you went somewhere alone, turned the phone off, shut the door, and just thought about your future?

Everything that is happening in my life today is a product of what I thought about yesterday. This is where vision is birthed. This is where purpose is found, and dreams are discovered.

During these quiet times, I began learning to hear God’s voice, and it has provided the greatest direction for my life. God wants you to know His voice and His specific plan for your life. Make a commitment to spend time thinking, praying, and listening.

The second C is Clarity. When the vision is clear, the results will appear.

You have to ask yourself is, “what do I want?” Do you want to be debt-free in 2015? How much debt do you have? Do you know the exact amount? Be very clear on what you want, or else you’ll likely be exactly where you are today (or perhaps in more debt).

I recently heard a story about a lady who bought a dress 10 sizes too small. She was so embarrassed that she told the saleswoman it was for a friend. In reality, she was getting crystal clear with her vision.

She hung that dress up in her closet where she saw it each day. She would open her closet door, see the dress and declare, “I will be a size 6. I will wear that dress.” Well, it didn’t happen overnight, but she eventually wore that dress.

CLARITY is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT STEPS TO THE SUCCESS GOD HAS FOR YOU. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish in life when you get CLEAR on your goals.

The third C is Continual Growth. Even Jesus had to grow in order to accomplish the plans His Father had for Him. The Bible says that He grew in wisdom, stature, and favor (see Luke 1:52). This tells me that we need to keep learning, developing, and growing too.

Let this story about Vince Robert from Ottawa, Canada encourage you today. Vince had a 7th grade education and was a driver for a taxi company for years. At the age of 37, he decided he was ready to make a change. He simply walked into a bookstore, bought a big Webster’s dictionary and kept it in the car with him.

He started with page one and began to learn and memorize words. He suddenly began understanding things he had only heard of before. It was as if an entire new world had been opened up to him. As he read, he began to grow himself. He began to listen to messages. He began to think differently.

He decided that each day he would take the biggest fare of the day and put it in an investment account. He did this every day for YEARS! He gave up things he wanted at the moment for what he really wanted in the future (nice clothes, cars, vacations, etc.). Once he committed to grow himself continually, he eventually BOUGHT THE CAB COMPANY! It all began by sitting there day after day learning!

Growth is not automatic. It must be intentional and strategic. I can verify that my life, my results, and my walk with the Lord drastically changed when I became committed and intentional to grow-spirit, soul, and body.

What could happen in your life over the next 12 months if you commit to grow? I am convinced you will accelerate your progress to such a degree that others will notice that you’re not the same person you used to be.

My passion is to inspire you to achieve your dreams and provide the practical tools to help you fulfill your life assignment.

As our ministry has accelerated the last few years, new challenges and opportunities have arisen. We’ve seen God do amazing things in 2014 as we’ve touched more lives than ever. With your help we can do even more to help those in need.
