Are You a “Big-Picture” Leader?

by Steve Marr | Articles, Business

With staff, are you careful to focus on the spirit of directions rather than on each technical point?

Paul wrote Timothy and instructed, “Remind them of all things…not to wrangle about words…” (2 Tim. 2:14 NASB).

We may easily focus on some technical point in disciplining staff while ignoring the bigger picture.

When discussing problems with staff, avoid concentrating on the technical points of a failure to adhere to policy—stay with the big picture.

If someone tries to wiggle out by redefining words in the policy, go back to the big picture.

Stay focused on the big picture, and your communication will improve.
