Bring Them To Jesus

by Mark Brazee | 365 Days of Healing, Devotions

“And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay” (Mark 2:3-4).

Here we see four men bringing a paralyzed man to Jesus. I can’t prove this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if those four men were some of those who had been healed the last time Jesus had been in town. They seemed so convinced that if they could get their friend to Jesus, he would be healed.

These four men had to take the roof apart to get the paralyzed man down in the middle of the room! And they must have been convinced that Jesus wouldn’t turn anyone down who came for healing. They didn’t say, “Lord, heal him, if it be Thy will.” No, the four men were sure their friend would receive his healing.

Matthew 8:16 talks about others who brought the sick to Jesus: “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick.” Notice the verse says, “They brought unto him.” That phrase is used several times in the Gospels. (Matt. 9:32; Mark 1:32.)

Did you ever wonder who “they” were? Did Jesus have His own healing teams? No, “they” are people who don’t need anything themselves but go out and find folks who do need something and bring them to Jesus. They bring people because they’re fully convinced that the people’s needs will be met.

The truth is, “they” are the body of believers! People sometimes say, “What if I invite someone to church, and God doesn’t do anything spectacular?” Yes, but what if He does? And if God doesn’t do anything miraculous, the people we bring to church will still hear His Word.

So fulfill your part of the “they” work of this world: Go out and find folks who need help, and bring them to Jesus!

Confession:
I can do the “they” work! I’ve experienced the healing power of Jesus, and I know without a doubt that when I bring others to Him, they will be healed.
