The more we know God, the more we trust Him to take care of everything that concerns us.
Are you aware of your behavior when you are tired or under extreme pressure? Do words like short, easily offended, insensitive, intense or impatient describe your responds? Sometimes we resemble a well shaken soda can ready to explode. But did you know that God wants to give you rest? He wants to refresh and restore your mind, will and emotions as well as your physical body.
Life happens fast and it is easy to get caught up in the burden of busyness. We were created to grow, achieve and succeed. But when we are extremely busy, stressed or worried, our mind, will and emotions can get so carbonated that we can’t think straight. The enemy tries to convince us we are too busy and have too many other responsibilities to spend quality time with God. The truth is most of the time we are busier in our minds than we are physically.
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
When we pause and come into God’s presence, He neutralizes our life. Being with God helps us to get the right perspective and align our priorities. I have found spending time with God will actually help you get more done in less time. But even among the hustle of life, we can find rest, refreshing and relaxation. God wants us to enjoy life. That’s why He said to come to Him. The more we know God, the more we trust Him to take care of everything that concerns us. Be encouraged today, the key to experiencing this rest in your life everyday is to everyday consistently “Come unto Him”. Release your cares to the Lord, you will find rest and live the abundant life that He promised.
Today’s Scripture
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30)
A Prayer for Today
Father in Heaven, Thank you for refreshing me in Your presence. Father, I choose to cast all my cares upon You because You said You care for me. As I come to You, I thank You for giving me rest and for renewing my strength and power. In Jesus name, Amen.

Joe and Misti have been married since 1989 and have 2 kids, Hannah and Joseph who also serve in various roles at Harvest Church. Because family is such a priority to our Pastors, they desire for the church to feel like home.
They both graduated from Rhema Bible College and currently serve as Rhema Regional Directors, overseeing ministers in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia under Pastors Kenneth and Lynette Hagin. Before pioneering Harvest Church, Pastors Joe and Misti served at St. Peter's World Outreach Church for 8 years under Bishop JC and Lady Joy Hash. Our Pastors continue to serve their Pastors as part of Bishop Hash's Alliance.
In 1998, God called our Pastors to pioneer Harvest Church in Greensboro, NC. They desired that Harvest would be a place where people of all ages and races could connect with God in a personal way. They place high importance on basing everything we do from God's Word, prayer, and being led by the Holy Spirit.
Today at Harvest, God is fulfilling the vision He placed in our Pastors' hearts. You will see that our church is driven by the love of God. You will feel like you belong and that there is a place for you! We believe that every time we come together as a church, people are pointed to Jesus and that we reflect the kingdom of God.
