“From the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth” (Ps. 110:3 NKJ).
After the world sleeps through its long night of darkness, an unusual phenomenon occurs with the coming of the dawn. As the sun prepares to rise and light up the dark sleeping world, dew begins to form on the ground. Millions of dewdrops cover the vegetation giving everything an appearance of abundant freshness, vigorous renewal, and a vitality with splendor.
This verse gives us a word picture of the people of God staying young in heart, fresh and energetic and as pure as the morning dew. C.H. Spurgeon has remarked: “How wonderful is the eternal youth of the Christian church. Since Jesus ever lives, so shall His church ever flourish. His strength never fails so shall our vigor be renewed day by day.”
Since dew falls fresh on the ground daily, we can expect a perpetual succession of converts. In Acts 2:47 we read that …the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved (NKJ).
Prior to conversion, our soul is in a long dull night of ignorance. The light of the Gospel shines bright as the morning sun. An innumerable host comes to the Lord as soon as His love and warmth is received. The numberless multitudes are spread all over the landscape just like the pearly drops of morning dew.
I believe heaven will be fully populated with a multitude glittering as the morning dew. No church should be tired and fatigued. No Christian should be weary or worn out. The promise of this verse assures us of a daily freshness. It is ours for the asking.
