Do You Deserve What You Get?

by | Uncategorized

Grace is so great and so wonderful that we have trouble comprehending it. God’s grace is so great that it cannot even be compared to the fall of man. But just because we don’t understand it doesn’t mean we should ignore it.

God’s grace has been defined by many as unmerited favor. And that is true. God’s grace is unmerited favor. But it is so much more.

God’s grace is God empowering man to do what would normally be impossible for him to do. Grace is God willingly imparting His abilities into us so that we can do what He wants done.

It’s interesting how many people depend almost entirely on their own abilities. Let me ask you something. If your destiny were dependent upon your good works, what would your destiny be?

Another point is this. If your destiny were dependent upon your good works instead of the gift of God, then we would have legalism once again instead of living in the age of grace.

If healing were based on deserving, it wouldn’t be grace. If prosperity were based on deserving, it wouldn’t be grace. If salvation were based on your good works, it wouldn’t be grace. Once again, it would be legalism.

Grace is being able to have all the benefits although you don’t deserve them.

We give good things to our children when they don’t deserve it because we love them so much. Once I heard someone say God wants to prosper you if for no other reason than He just has so much.

So the next time you avoid requesting your need from the Father because you think you’re not good enough, stop and remember this. It doesn’t matter how good you are and it doesn’t matter what you think you deserve.

God’s gifts are given by grace through faith and by His children asking according to His will with a pure heart.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Eph. 2:8).
