“But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him” (John 6:36-37,44).
Jesus said that God the Father must draw people to Him. It is God the Father who must open people’s eyes. In other words, the reality of Jesus is much bigger than the logic you understand with your mind. You have to understand that Jesus is real with your heart. I’m not going to try to convince anyone. I’m just trying to provoke people to have faith so they can open their eyes to see the truth that God wants them to see.
Too many people try to live their life for God based only on what they understand logically. They try to tell others about Jesus by telling them, “If you just believe what I believe, then you’ll be saved.” That’s not what this Bible verse says. Jesus is saying that you have to believe in Him so much that you commit your life to Him.
If you’re going to commit your whole heart and your whole life to Jesus, you had better open your eyes and see this truth for how big and how awesome it is. The reality of Jesus and living for Him is so big and so awesome that it’s going to demand all of your heart.
Jesus didn’t want to logically convince people, He wanted God to convince people. He wanted them to allow the Holy Spirit to open their eyes and for them to be stunned with the reality that He really is the Son of God. As a result, they would never be the same again. They would come running to Him, fall on their knees, give their life to Him, and be changed forever.
Ask God the Father to open your eyes so you can see Jesus for who He really is today. Be like Moses and ask God to give you a glimpse of His glory. Then watch out, because He’s going to draw you closer and closer to Him.
