“And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee” (Deut. 28:10 KJV).
God has provided blessings for His children. But you must do your part to receive those blessings.
God has said that people will see that you are blessed of Me, and they’ll be afraid of you. Why? They will recognize the blessings that are on your life. But you have to be ready to do the obeying part of Deuteronomy 28.
If the Lord tells you to go out on the field and teach, and you don’t see how you can do it with a wife and kids, just remember that if the Lord told you to do it, He will see you through. You just have to be willing to adjust, adapt, and stick with the plan of God.
I remember one time the Lord told me to sell my car in order to downsize financially. So I did it, and I got a much smaller car. Someone might think I couldn’t do that. The Lord gave me that car. Most of the time people buy and get things that God had nothing to do with. They didn’t consult with God before they made their purchase.
I remember counseling a couple in big-time debt. They were filing for bankruptcy. I said to them, “What the biggest asset you have? They said “our house.” I said, “Sell it and get a smaller one.” They replied, “Yes, but God gave us that house.” But that house was bankrupting them.
So I said, “First of all, God didn’t give you that house, you gave it to you.” Second, you’re out of the will of God because you’re heavy in debt and you’re talking about going into bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is stealing from people even if it is legal. A man should not have to wait 20, 30, or 60 years to get their money back. That’s not what you agreed to.
So they finally agreed to sell their house, and got a smaller one. They obeyed God’s word. They were able to pay off all their bills. Later God gave them a better house in a better neighborhood than the house they sold. God blessed them financially; they didn’t have the burden of debt on their backs anymore.
When you hearken diligently to the Word of God, you receive the blessings.
