“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” (John 15:1-3 KJV).
Jesus is the Son of love. So we are going to read the scripture replacing the word “me” referring to Jesus, and the name “Jesus” with the word “love.” God is love. God does not have love…He is love.
And when you are talking about God you are talking about love. When you are talking about Jesus you are talking about love. When you talking about the Holy Spirit you are talking about the Spirit of love.
So we read: “Every branch in love that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Purge means to prune, snap off everything that gets in the way of growth. Now ye are clean through the word….” The Word of God is the Word of love. That which cleans you up is the Word which Jesus has spoken to you.
God’s Word is love and we must abide in Him. Any branch disconnected from love will not have what it needs to stay alive. From the vine flows the juice, the provision and life of God. This is not just a thing of yourself, God not wanting you to fight with your brother. This is about God wanting you to prosper by being connected to Him.
When you make your permanent residence in Love, you will produce blessings in your life. You want the anointing to work. You want the power of God to flow in your life. You want to be blessed in everything that you do. That means that you want production in your life. And the only way you can produce is that you abide in God’s love.
Jesus said, “If ye live in, settle down in, and take up residence in love, and my words of love live in, settle down in, and take up residence in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” Why? You are walking in God’s covenant.
You and God are in covenant together, in the secret place. And that secret place brought you not only protection, but it brought you every thing that you need. It brought you long life, victory, healing, and prosperity. That is what living in the love of God will do for you.
