“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Heb. 11:3).
In Mark 11:22, Jesus said to us, “Have faith in God,” or “Have the God-kind of faith.” What is the God-kind of faith? Hebrews 11:3 gives us a clue; it says God spoke the universe into existence by faith.
We know God created the worlds in six days and then rested on the seventh. But I don’t believe He stepped out on the first day and said, “I’m going to speak the worlds into existence. I’ve never tried this before. I sure hope it works!” No, God knew He could do it. He was confident; He believed in His own power to create.
Isaiah 40:12 says that God measured out the heavens in the span of His hand and measured the waters in the hollow of His hand. God thoroughly believed He could speak the worlds into existence. He knew exactly what it would look like when He was through.
God could have stepped out on the first day and said, “Universe, be!” and everything would have come into existence. I believe He slowed it down and created the heavens and the earth a day at a time so we could see how the God-kind of faith works. (Maybe He had other reasons as well, but that’s a good one!)
So God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Gen. 1:3). Now, suppose God had gotten what He believed when He said that. The entire universe would have come into existence! But God didn’t get what He believed; He got what He said. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Nothing more, nothing less. God believed He could create the entire universe, but what He said came into manifestation.
That’s how the God-kind of faith works, and it works the same way for us. As we speak what we believe, our faith-filled words will come to pass!
I proclaim from a believing heart that healing is mine
through Jesus Christ! My words release faith in my
heart, and my healing is manifested!
