In Numbers 13, you’ll find what I call “The 12 spy syndrome.” The Israelites have been in the wilderness for 20 years and they decide to go in and spy out the Promised Land.
Moses sent the twelve spies in. Ten came back with a bad report, and two came back with a good report. The result of those bad reports was another 20 years in the wilderness.
But notice the instructions that Moses gave them as he sent them out. In Numbers 13:17 from the Amplified Bible, it says, “Moses sent them to scout out the land of Canaan and said to them, get up….”
Those words struck me like lightening. In fact, the King James Version says, “Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan and said unto them, get you up.” Hey do you get that? It says GET UP!
Before you can spy out and understand the promises of God and the purpose of God and plan of God, you have to get your spirit UP to a higher place and a higher level. You get UP by being prayed UP!
Now check this out. Here is another awesome Scripture, from 2 Chronicles 20:17. Here God is giving instructions to Jehoshaphat and his army. He said this, “You don’t need to fight in this battle for the battle is not yours, but the battle is mine, saith the Lord; be still, hold your position and see the provision of God.”
Be STILL! Hold your position! There is a positioning that we have to Get UP into! It takes prayer! And until you can lock onto that position spiritually and understand the purpose and the plan that God has for your life, you won’t have the “UP” attitude.
Get UP into that still position, keep your ‘tude UP and stay prayed UP!
