There are several causes for frustration, but the greatest one that I have ever encountered is having more people to see, more meetings to attend, more decisions to make, more places to go, more sermons to write, more classes to teach, more buildings to build than I have time for.
It is true that everyone is given twenty-four hours a day. No more, no less. I have attended seminars where we were told that everyone should be able to complete their tasks because everyone has the same amount of time.
Yes, it is true. We all have the same amount of time. But I know for a fact we all don’t have the same number of tasks.
God will always provide the ample amount of time for the tasks He assigns. In my life, I had to come to a realization. If I am not completing all of the tasks that God has assigned, then either I am not using my time wisely or I have not learned how to delegate responsibility.
Of course, there is another possibility – maybe some of the tasks were not assigned by God, but possibly I assigned them to myself or someone else assigned them to me and I couldn’t say no.
With all this in mind, let me give you five steps that, if followed in balance, will eliminate frustration.
- Know God’s Word
You must read what God says daily. He knows more than you do. - Spend time communicating with God
Don’t ask Him to bless your idea. Ask Him for His idea. He knows more than you do. - Worship God
Spend time in His presence exalting Him and He will speak to your heart. He knows more than you do. - Submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit
Pray in the Spirit and you will be praying His will for your life. He knows more than you do. - You must have faith in God
This means you must trust in and rest in His will and timing for your life because…He knows more than you do.
Remember, 1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
Romans 8:26 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
Receive God’s will for your life and act on His plan. And don’t forget, He knows more than you do.
