Do you realize that as you read this, you hold the answer for someone who is hurting, depressed, addicted, in bondage and on their way to hell?

Have you ever thought about what the Word of God has declared in Romans 8?

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
(Rom. 8:19 NKJ)

Let’s look at this scripture for just a moment. Who are the “sons of God” that it’s referring to? John 1 tells us:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
(John 1:12)

So if I have received Jesus, the Scripture says that I am a son of God. In Romans 8:14 we read, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” We Christians like to claim that we have “received” Jesus, that we “believe” on His name, and that we are “led by the Spirit.”

If that is the case, then we must also realize that there is an earnest expectation of the creation waiting for us to be revealed.

What needs to be revealed and who is waiting on it? There was something interesting that I read one day about Moses.

Every Christian knows of Moses, the deliverer who led the captive Israelites out of Egyptian bondage. However, there was something that I had never seen about this great man of God until just recently.

Let’s go back a few years to Abraham when God tells him about his seed and foretells of their bondage in Egypt. We find this event in Genesis 15:

Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.”
(Gen. 15:13)

Now let’s jump head a few years to Exodus 12, which tells us:

And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.”
(Ex. 12:41)

Speaking of the same event we find a thirty-year discrepancy between the prophesied Word of this event and the historical account of this event.

We understand, according to Acts 7:22-25, that Moses knew of his call because he thought that the Israelites would understand this also. Let’s walk through a little of Moses’ life. According to Acts chapter seven, when he was forty years old Moses visited his brethren (v. 23). Then in verses 22-29, we see that he kills an Egyptian and has to flee to the land of Midian.

Referring back to when God told Abraham about this event, he established that His people would be afflicted for 400 years. Three hundred and ninety years into their bondage Moses, according to Acts 7:23, had it in his heart to go visit his people.

You may be wondering how I know that it was 390 years. The answer is simple math. The Israelites were finally delivered after 430 years of bondage, and Moses was on the backside of the desert for forty years. Therefore, he must have had it in his heart to visit his people 390 years into their affliction.

It is very apparent that Moses tried to take his calling into his own hands when he killed the Egyptian. However, I have to ask myself, “Did he cause the Israelites to have to endure an extra thirty years of slavery because he didn’t allow himself to manifest as God intended?”

Do you realize that as you read this, you hold the answer for someone who is hurting, depressed, addicted, in bondage and on their way to hell? How long must they endure their situation while they wait for you, their answer, to manifest? Ask yourself this question, “Who is waiting for me to manifest my calling?”

So often, we Christians get comfortable being “Christians” looking forward to our eternity in heaven and enjoying ourselves in the things of God that we forget our purpose. God has a purpose for you! Step out of the routine life of just being a Christian and commit yourself to following God’s plan for you.

In other words, manifest God’s calling because someone is waiting for you!
