“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people” (Matt. 4:23).
Did you know Jesus is your healer? He is willing and able to heal your body of any kind of sickness or disease. Isn’t it so good to know that the doctor’s report or the medical report is not the last word?
The last word is this: no sickness or disease is stronger than the healing power that is in Christ Jesus.
It didn’t matter to Jesus what was wrong with those people; Jesus healed them all. That means whatever was going on in their bodies, or their minds, it had to leave because the anointing was stronger. When word got around that Jesus was healing folk, they brought sick people with every kind of sickness and disease imaginable – He healed them all.
But notice what happens when Jesus goes to his own hometown. Here we find out what will stop the anointing of God (Mark 6:1-6): Those that knew Him were offended. Why were they offended?
They were offended because they knew who He was, at least they thought they knew Him. Actually, all they knew was that He was the son of Mary, and they knew all his brothers and sisters, but they didn’t really know Him.
If they really knew Him, they would have received from Him. But they were offended because they were looking at the man and not the anointing on the man. Are you listening to me? Their offense cost them their healing. Jesus said in verse four, “A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.”
You see, the Holy Ghost is the One that does the healing, and He is the agent of healing. They didn’t honor the anointing of the Holy Spirit, so Jesus was only able to heal a few sick folk.
Now everywhere else in Scripture, we read how Jesus healed all their sick. Well, what stopped the power of God from flowing through the whole crowd in His hometown? It was because of the unbelief of the people. Unbelief stopped the manifestation of the power of God; He could only heal a few sick folk here and there.
But I got a word from God for you – healing belongs to you. Jesus was anointed to heal you and me.
