“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb. 1:3 KJV).
Jesus is the very image of God, Himself. So if you want to see God, you can just look at Jesus. All that we have, the redemption through the blood of Jesus; deliverance from the power of darkness by Jesus; translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, who is Jesus. We are in Jesus’ kingdom. And Jesus is the image of God.
When you see Jesus operate in the earth you are looking at the very image of the Father Himself. You are looking at His resemblance. You see how He is, what He is about, and what He does.
Hebrews 1:2 tells us that Jesus was appointed heir of all things. Now He was there at the creation, but He put all that down. He was the creator of all things and by Him all things consisted. But He left all that behind and came into a human body. Jesus walked the earth, not as the supreme God. He walked the earth as man. It was a man that messed up, and it was going to have to be a man that set it straight.
Jesus emptied Himself of all divine privileges. He did that for you. Jesus walked away from the royal diadems of glory and rapped Himself in human flesh so he could save you. God, who of course would never know any pain, would never know agony, would never know sickness, wrapped Himself in human flesh. He was tempted at all points like we are. He did it for me and he did it for you.
That is why He had to be appointed as a man walking in the flesh, anointed by the Holy Ghost. He overcomes death, hell, and the grave. He overcame sin, and he became the right hand, and right arm of God obtaining victory for the world. Therefore God appointed Him heir of all things.
Jesus was the engraved representation of God. Have you ever seen where they engraved words upon the side of a concrete building? Jesus is the engraved representation God’s person. Yet, the Bible tells us that you and I can be changed into that very same image.
