Know Your Covenant Rights

by Keith Butler | Uncategorized

“But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises” (Heb. 8:6).

The Word lays it out plainly in Hebrews 8:6. It says we have a better covenant. That means it was better than what they had in the Old Testament because it’s established upon better promises.

But wait a minute, Deuteronomy chapter 28 lists a whole lot of blessings for us. So what in the world do we get in the New Testament? Well, we get what is in Deuteronomy plus so much more.

That’s why it’s important for us to understand our covenant rights. We don’t have to walk around ignorant of the terms of our covenant. It’s about time we read the fine print in the contract. It’s about time we understand what it says so that we can live the covenant life.

Once we understand the covenant, then we can start talking covenant and walking like we have a covenant with God. Then watch God begin to raise up whatever we need and restore to us what the enemy has taken. He will go way past that and begin a new beginning for His covenant people. It will be a breakout time of blessings in our life.

Listen, I am telling you that you are His covenant people. You have a right to break out. You have a right to a new beginning – a fresh start in your life. It’s time to stand on the promises of God and expect them to come to pass. Expect a new beginning in your life, your marriage, your financial affairs, your body, and for your children to turn around.

You have a right to every blessing because you are a covenant man or woman. God said you have a right to this. So, whatever you call it, that’s what it will be. Remember, whatever part of the covenant you don’t believe is yours, will not be yours. But when you say that you have it all, and receive it all even though you don’t see it right now, so shall it be unto you.

God gets excited when we stand on His Word. He says, “That’s my man or woman right there and they are standing on my covenant and I will perform what I said.” You can count on God. Men will fail you, but God will never fail you. So take time to know your covenant rights and begin to live the covenant life.
