Knowing God brings Success in Life

by Keith Butler | Uncategorized

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge” (2 Peter 1:5 KJV).

We all want to experience some degree of success in life—something that we are good at. However, you can succeed at something you know nothing about. You have to know about a matter, before you can have experience in that situation. Well, James 1:22 says that you can know if you ask God.

The Greek word for “knowledge” is gnosis. It means inquiry and investigation, a seeking to know God and His Word—questioning Him to find out His will and direction. Not only must you be an individual who can walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7), but you must always be inquiring to learn more about the things of God. Seeking to know should abound from you toward God.

You never know it all. You should never have the attitude that “I know it all.” Your thinking that you “know it all” can cause you to miss out on your miracle. There is only One who knows it all, and that is God.

God has made knowledge available for His children. You can know. When you seek His Word and His ways, the Holy Spirit will reveal Himself to you. That is the great thing about God. When you seek to know something about Him, then He is right there to give you the answers.

You may not get the answer immediately. But if you operate in patience, then you will know and understand the answers you have asked of Him.

So allow knowledge to abound in you. Be a person who is always seeking, inquiring of God and investigating the Word of God, that you may know God’s will for your life. You are not waiting on Him. He is waiting on you.
