“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you” (John 15:13-14 KJV).
It is an act of our will to pray. We ought to thank God for the privilege to be able to communicate with him, and we can do it in a way that Satan can’t even understand what we’re saying. It is as though we speak in code and pray God’s perfect will. The Word says in John 15:13 that you can lay down your life for your friends in prayer.
Jesus is just telling you what the role of the Holy Ghost is. He told you that if you pray, the Holy Ghost will show you all things. Now I am here to tell you that the way you find out what is coming up in your future is to get in your prayer closet. An individual that is in the prayer closet will see what is happening.
The Lord will show you the problem before it happens. He will show you it is going to be coming against you before it happens.
The Lord will show you that an open door is going to come to you before it happens. And you will know precisely what to do. It is one thing to have a little inkling on the inside. It is another thing to know the details. Now the more time you spend with God, the more information you get from Him.
It’s just like relationships. The more time I spend with my wife, the more I learn about her. And the more time I spend with her, the more secrets she tells me. But if I don’t make myself available to her, I’m not going to get very much.
In the same manner, the more time you spend with God the more secrets are manifested unto you. He has called you His friend and not a servant, because the servants of the house don’t know what the master is doing, but the friend knows all. And it is evident that you are His friend, because He laid down His life for you. How much more shall we do the same for each other.
