But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
It was God who raised Jesus to life! God’s Spirit now lives in us. So God will raise us up to life by His Spirit also. It’s not our spirit man that needs this raising up but our death doomed mortal body that needs to be quickened.
The Message Bible says: It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!
Someone may say that this means we are raised spiritually, not raised up from sickness or disease. But Jesus was raised from the dead physically. If God raised Jesus’ physically dead body, His Spirit can also raise our physically sick bodies. What a Savior we have.
God’s Spirit dwells in me and gives life to my mortal body.
