“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
Can you imagine what it means to us to be partakers of God’s divine nature? We were born into this world with a fallen, sinful nature. That’s not because of what we have done, but because Adam sinned and that sinful nature has been passed down from generation to generation all the way to us. But thank God, we can now have God’s divine nature instead.
The Message Bible says: “We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.”
We partake of the divine nature by the great and precious promises of God. We are familiar with and aware of our fallen nature.
We’ve had it from birth. But God’s Word is given to reveal Him to us and make us aware of what the divine nature of God will look like in us. As a member of God’s family, get familiar with His precious promises.
I partake in the divine nature of God my Father by His great and precious promises.
