Pulling Strongholds to their Knees

by | The Anointed Word

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Cor. 10:4).

Is there anything in your life that needs to bow today? In biblical times, Roman soldiers celebrated their enemy’s defeat by forcing them on their knees.

The powerful weapons we have through God are designed to pull down strongholds in our lives. The words, pulling down, in the Greek mean to pull down on the knees. It means to humiliate and overthrow. The Roman soldiers wanted to humiliate their enemy by forcing them on their knees.

Remember, the weapons of our warfare are not flesh ruled; they are dynamite through God’s power to the pulling down to the knees, which is another word for pulling down or to overthrow strongholds.

Now, strongholds are cares, worries, concerns, and fears, which first start with the mind. Satan comes first against your mind with things like poverty, depression, and sickness. They start in the spiritual realm and then progress over into the natural realm.

Now the natural realm is where Satan operates. But you need to know this war cannot be won on Satan’s turf. He operates totally by the flesh. The mind is where the war is waged, but our weapons are brutal, they are mighty through God. You can pull down every stronghold in your life; you can bring them to their knees.

The problem is, many Christians become weary. They get tired of governing their minds. But you have to renew your mind with the Word of God every single day. You may be saying, “Am I ever going to be able to rest from applying the Word?” The answer is never. Not as longs as you’re breathing. So you might as well get the right attitude concerning this.

People have asked me to pray for them that the devil leave them alone. My response is, “Are you ready to go to heaven?” You need to realize that as long as you are here, the devil is going to try to come against your mind.

But if you make a decision right now, to roll every worry, concern, and every fear from you with God’s word, those strongholds have to bow. Yes, there is a personal battle we all have to deal with in the mind. However, the good news is the battle has already been won.

Now just maintain Satan’s defeat by casting down imaginations and every thought that exalts itself against the Word of God – bring them to their knees.
