Saved From Wrath

by | A Verse A Day, Devotions

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

(Rom. 5:9 KJV)

There is more! Now that God has accepted us because Jesus sacrificed his life’s blood for our justification, we will be kept safe from God’s anger towards sin. He isn’t angry anymore because our sins are absolutely gone, not just covered. Because Jesus died for us and bore our punishment God isn’t irritated with anyone anymore.

The Message Bible says: Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way.

What a revelation to receive; God no longer looks through anger, judgment and disappointment at the human race. He is now looking at us through Jesus. We look a lot better that way because we have been pronounced free from guilt through His shed blood.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

By the shed blood of Jesus I have a personal love relationship with God. It’s not based on my failure or shortcomings. It’s based on Jesus.
