“Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered” (Ps. 68:1).
Scattering the enemy is God’s plan for diffusing the malignant forces that come against the believer. Scattering the enemy breaks up his power base so that his intensity is fragmented and his designs thwarted.
When God arises in our behalf, two things happen: 1) We receive a deliverance wrought by divine intervention. God comes to our rescue and lifts us out of our adversity; 2) The enemy that posed a united threat to our progress becomes splintered and pulverized.
The Lord’s word of deliverance becomes a hammer to break the rock in pieces (Jer. 23:29). The enemy comes against us one way, but when God arises to confront him, he flees before us in seven ways (Deut. 28:7).
Solomon tell us that a wise king scatters the wicked (Prov. 20:26). When you see organized opposition, collective hostility, and the enemy marshalling his forces to come against the cause of righteousness, know that God will step in and bring to naught the devices of the adversary.
Oh, blessed comfort, knowing that the Lord is looking out for our protection and preservation! Let God arise, and let our enemies be scattered. Our enemy is also His enemy. Our battles become His battles. Gloriously, His victory becomes our victory.
