We are a three-part being. We are spirit, soul, and body, and we need to understand that what we bring into the area of the soul drops down into our inner man. The Word within our spiritual heart affects our physical heart.
The Scripture tells us that there’s a difference between revelation knowledge and sense knowledge. Sense knowledge involves the eyes and ears. Revelation knowledge involves the inner man. It’s important to understand how critical our words are.
Again, under the new covenant we apply the blood of Jesus with our mouth. We apply the blood of Jesus by confessing what we believe to be true. As we understand the covenant blood, it brings a whole new meaning to Revelation 12:11.
And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death-holding their lives cheap till they had to die [for their witnessing].
(Rev. 12:11 AMP)
It is important for you to have a revelation of this for yourself. Knowing it is one thing, but understanding how to apply the blood is something else. Remember, God wants your words and the devil wants your words.
The first time you open your mouth and speak doubt and unbelief concerning a spiritual promise, that portion (promise) of the contract is not valid for you. It does not mean the contract is not valid, but that portion will remain unfulfilled until you ratify it with the correct confession.
The Hebrew people were told to march around Jericho for six days and not say a word. The purpose could have been to keep strife, contention, doubt, and unbelief from coming out of their mouths, because God knew what was in their hearts.
So, if you find yourself standing nose to nose with the devil and you don’t know what to say, but you’ve done all you know to do, stand with your mouth shut!
