“Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick” (Luke 9:1-2).
Now we know that Jesus was anointed to heal all manner of sickness and disease. But you may say, “Oh, but that was Jesus; He’s the Son of God.” Nevertheless, you have the same anointing on the inside of you.
You see, Jesus didn’t operate in the earth as God. He operated in the earth as a man anointed by the Holy Ghost. So guess what, you are anointed by the same Holy Ghost. Also, Jesus spoke the Word of God. And guess what, He gave you God’s Word to speak just as He spoke.
It’s the anointing that removes burdens and destroys yokes. All sicknesses and diseases are yokes and burdens. They were all destroyed because a man named Jesus walked under the anointing.
Now Mark 3:14-15, tells us that Jesus ordained his twelve disciples to heal the sick and to cast out devils. So, not only did Jesus minister under the power and the anointing of the Holy Ghost, but His disciples did too.
They had power to heal people that the doctors said had no hope; and they cast out devils. These were His disciples – they were no different from you and me.
Notice, He gave them power, which means miraculous power, ability, might, and energy. He also gave them authority, which is delegated influence. In other words, Jesus gave the disciples delegated influence and miraculous might, ability and energy. That’s the same dynamite power and authority that’s on the inside of you; it’s the Holy Ghost.
Mark 16:18 says, “…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Who shall lay hand on the sick? Did it say apostles, evangelists, pastors, or teachers? No. It says any believer. He is showing us the authority that has been given every believer in the name of Jesus. You have authority, Believer, to lay hand on the sick, from someone who is in a coma to someone who has a hangnail.
Are you listening to me? Stop looking for somebody else to do the work for you. Get God’s Word in you. You are God’s agent to minister to the sick. God is looking for you to lay hands on the sick and to tell all manner of sickness to come out of that body in the name of Jesus. The same anointing that was on Jesus is on the inside of you.
