The Bird With The Word Talks About Joy

by Harrison House | Uncategorized

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (John 15:11)

Jolly Jack is the funniest clown in the whole circus. He does the silliest things and tells jokes all the time!

He even lets children throw pies at him!

Joe cleans up at the circus. He is very old. Joe can’t do any tricks and doesn’t know any jokes, but he has lots of friends and knows a special secret.

One night after the show, old Joe was cleaning up.

“There’s Jolly Jack, but he doesn’t look very jolly, thought Joe.
“What’s wrong?” asked Joe. You look sad, Jolly Jack.”

“How would you know?” growled Jack. “You have squinty eyes and the longest saddest face I’ve ever see!”

“Besides,” he said, “I’m the funniest clown in the circus!”

“I’m old and can’t see well, but I do know that just having a funny face and telling jokes won’t make you truly happy,” said Joe. “I even know a secret,” Joe whispered.

Joe knew that Jolly Jack was only jolly when he was being a clown. But inside Jolly Jack felt sad.

Old Joe told him about how Jesus loves us and puts joy inside us, so we can be happy inside and out!

Now Jack is really happy and the children can him “Joyful Jack,” because now he has joy inside and out!

…the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Neh. 8:10)

In November 1975, Buddy and Pat Harrison launched Harrison House Publishers, releasing their first titles in 1976. Since then, Harrison House has published and distributed more than 100 million books in 42 languages and in more than 175 countries. Since Dr. Harrison's homegoing in November of 1998, Harrison House has continued to publish the uncompromised Word of God.

2009 brought unprecedented changes to the publishing world, and Harrison House experienced changes as well. Press Group, a local printer and vendor, purchased Harrison House in April 2009, merging two complementary companies into one. With printing facilities, warehousing, and technology now under one roof, Harrison House is able to provide faster turn times, more accurate order processing, and better stock levels than ever before. We are truly poised to further the vision God put in the hearts of Buddy and Pat Harrison over 30 years ago: taking the Word of God to the world, impacting generations for His Kingdom.
