And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two door posts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He [the Lord] sees the blood on the lintel and on the two door posts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
(Ex. 12:22-23)
If you look carefully, you will see that in verse 23, the scripture says, “the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.”
It is the blood that protects you. We are still under a blood covenant.
If you think the blood covenant only applied to the physical sons of Abraham, look at Galatians 3:7: “Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham” (Gal. 3:7).
We are people of faith. We have been saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8). We just don’t use the blood of bulls and goats anymore. We use the blood of Jesus.
If the blood of sacrificial lambs had the kind of power that stopped the destroyer, how much more will the blood of Jesus protect you when it is applied to your household!
