“For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand” (John 3:34-35).
We can learn the ways of God’s Spirit—how He works and how He moves. Of course, the best way to understand God’s ways is to look at Jesus. Jesus was God manifested in the flesh, but He laid aside His omniscience, His omnipresence, His omnipotence and glory to become a man.
Jesus had been with the Father from the beginning, but He put Himself in this little box called a human body, in which He could only know what God showed Him, He could only be in one place at a time and He could only do what God did in Him and through Him. He paid a huge price just in leaving heaven and coming down to earth.
The more we know about the price Jesus paid for us, the more we will love and appreciate Him. He left the rightful dignity and privileges He had enjoyed with the Father and was born on this earth as a baby. He grew to be a man, never working a miracle until He was thirty years old, after the Holy Spirit had come upon Him.
The Bible says, “God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.” In plain English, that means God gave Jesus the anointing without limitations. Jesus didn’t have one strong point, because He had all strong points. But when Jesus left this earth and went to the Father’s right hand, He distributed the anointing that was on His earthly body throughout His new body of believers.
Individually, no other person will ever walk in the anointing without measure. Human beings were not designed for that capacity. But the body of Christ as a whole has the anointing without measure. So whatever manifestations of God’s power we saw in Jesus’ ministry, we should see operating through the body of Christ today as believers learn more about the ways of God.
I’m a child of God, and I’m learning to follow the ways of my Father. He wants me to be healthy and whole.
Healing is mine. It’s bought and paid for by the blood of His Son, and I receive it in faith.
