The Value of Knowledge

by Keith Butler | The Anointed Word

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” (Hosea 4:6 KJV).

One of the infirmities the Holy Spirit helps us with is the lack of knowledge. God sent His Word to give us that knowledge, thereby we receive deliverance, healing, and many other blessings. So do not reject God’s Word, but receive it as the tool God has given to take you from glory to glory.

The word “destroyed” means cut off. You can be cut off from the blessings in a certain area in your life because of lack of knowledge.

Further, God said that He would reject them and their children that rejected knowledge. Now notice this here. He said being cut off comes from ignorance. Lack of knowledge means that you don’t have knowledge about a particular area.

We see then that being cut off because of ignorance and the rejection of knowledge then causes an individual to walk outside the calling God has for them. It causes their children to go without because of that lack of knowledge, and it causes shame instead of blessings.

That is one reason why the church you attend is important. You have to go to a church that is going to give you knowledge and information of the Word. God said in Jeremiah that He would send you pastors who will give you wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

That is the job of a pastor. The job of a pastor is to give you information so that you will know how to successfully function in the kingdom of God.

You need to have understanding to fully comprehend how things work. If that is not happening where you go to church, then that church is of no benefit to you. It doesn’t matter how good the choir sings.

Your quest in life is to get as much information about the Father and His wonderful Word as you can, because having that information will determine whether or not you die at 35 or live to be 95.

The church is the vehicle God has sent to take you from glory to glory. That is the reason why you ought to be in church, not just once a week, but at least twice a week.

You are missing a whole lot of other knowledge that is available to you while you are watching television at the time the Word is being taught. The Word of God is not an entertainment tool. It has absolute value that will protect or change or produce whatever is needed to produce.

Since the Father has given us His Word, our part is to cooperate with Him. But He won’t force knowledge into your head. You have to spend time reading and meditating in the Word of God. It is up to you to get the Word in you. Then with the knowledge you receive you will surely succeed.
