What Christ Has Restored Unto Us

by Michael Cameneti | Uncategorized

Christ came to the earth with many purposes. Among them, He came to the earth to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), to give us abundant life (John 10:10), and to restore God’s glory back to His children (Ps. 4:1-3).

As believers, it is important that we know about God’s glory—the manifested presence of God. Once you understand it, you will want it to manifest in you, in your church, and in everything you do.

When Adam sinned, he fell from the glory or the presence of God. Genesis 3:7 says,

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, ‘Where art thou?’ And he said, “I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

Because Adam and Eve had sinned, they hid themselves from God, knowing they could no longer stand in His presence. But God wanted His children to be restored back to righteousness and to His glory, so He had to make a way for this to happen, and the way was made through Jesus.

In the Old Testament, God’s glory, His presence, was manifested through things such as fire, a cloud, or smoke. The children of Israel followed God by following the cloud and fire that led them in the direction that He wanted them to go.

By day and by night, God was able to lead them and protect them with His glory. Today, however, we are not led by supernatural manifestations. The glory of God was transferred into the heart of the New Testament believer through the coming of Jesus, and His death, burial, and resurrection.

Jesus, the Manifested Presence of God
When Jesus came to earth, He was the manifested presence of God (1 John 1:2), and He came so that the earthly vessels we live in could house the very presence of God. When people receive salvation by calling on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glory of God, the very presence of God, comes into their lives.

Notice 2 Corinthians 6:16, “…for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, ‘I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.’ “

God took His glory and put it into man, and through salvation, the authority that Adam lost has been restored unto us. We can rule and reign, just like Adam did before he sinned. Let’s look at Genesis 1:26,

And God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Glory Manifested in Today’s Believer
Now that you know about God’s glory, don’t you want it to manifest in your church, in your life, and in everything you do? Each of us has a part to play in order for God’s glory to manifest.

Sometimes, by the way we live or the things we say, we stifle the glory of God, but we can be believers who live in the glory rather than those who choke it!

Let’s read Colossians 1:27, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory….”

Christ is in us, so we can expect the glory of God to manifest in us! Is there any area of your life that you struggle with such as sickness, depression, or fear? These things cannot stand against the glory of God.

Hebrews 12:29 tells us, “For our God is a consuming fire.” When God’s glory Manifests, His power actually consumes, or drives out what is not of God!

What else happens when the glory of God manifests? Revelation 21:21 says,

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Jesus is the light, or the glory, and He resides on the inside of every believer, illuminating our lives with His glory.

But we have a responsibility for the glory to manifest and illuminate our lives, we must worship God. When we are willing to sacrifice our flesh and focus on Him, our lives will be affected by the glory of God!

Notice what the Bible says about us in 2 Corinthians 3:18 when we become worshippers of God, and people that seek Him: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

When we worship God, we come face to face with Him, beholding His glory. As a result, we are changed, and our lives will be transformed to be more like Him. The glory of God will totally renovate the parts of our lives that need God!

When we spend time in God’s presence and allow Him to change us, 2 Corinthians 4:2 says,

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

When God’s glory changes us, we will not practice dishonesty or deceit, but we will hunger for the goodness and mercy in Him. That is good news!

We all have a part in affecting the lives of those we come in contact with; that is why it is so important to God that we recognize that we are carriers of His glory. He made a way through Jesus, to restore His very presence back into man.

When you realize that God’s glory, His very presence, is alive in you, your heart’s desire will be to live like Him. And when you live like Him, the people around you will be touched, changed, delivered, and restored, by the glory of God living on the inside of you.
