I’m concerned that many in the Church today are being rocked to sleep in the devil’s cradle of complacency. Many believers have become complacent with their lot in life and have stopped diligently pursuing the things of God like they once did. They’re no longer on fire to accomplish more for God’s Kingdom or to change their circumstances with His Word. The things of God that once burned in their hearts have become commonplace to them.
We should all be dissatisfied with complacency and refuse to allow it to hinder our walk with God. We should never entertain the idea of letting go of what God has told us to do. We should always be striving toward the mark of the high calling in God!
Friend, it’s time we move forward with everything that’s in us to do what God has told us to do. Time is short! Too many believers are just enjoying what God has given them while the rest of the world perishes. We can’t afford to sit down and pat ourselves on the back and say, “Glory hallelujah! We’ve got it made!”
I thank God for all the benefits we have as Christians. I thank God for healing, prosperity, faith, and every benefit of our covenant in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes, God has given us those benefits to enjoy. But God didn’t institute the Church just so we could have a good time! He commissioned the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ to take the Gospel to a world that’s lost and dying. And it’s time we wake up and obey that divine commission to do something with all the knowledge we’ve gained from the Word – we must reach the world for Jesus!
The enemy knows he can’t destroy the Church from the outside, so he’s tried to move in with his complacency and lull the church to sleep. We need to wake up! We must stop allowing ourselves to become so interested in enjoying the benefits of our faith that we lose sight of God’s purpose for our lives.
If the Lord came for His Church today, how many souls would you take with you? Or would you just say, “Well, Lord, here I am. I made it in!” When the Master comes, you don’t want to be one of those who has just been sitting around marking time. Be in that company of those who are sold out to do the will of God!
The Master of the harvest expects the Church to reap a harvest of souls for His glory! Are we really ready to meet Jesus?
