Women With an Attitude

by Deborah Butler | Uncategorized

Women know how to have an attitude. We can get an attitude really fast. However, God wants us to have the right attitude. Philippians 2:5 tells us the right attitude is to have the mind of Christ.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:5 KJV).

Women know how to have an attitude. We can get an attitude really fast. However, God wants us to have the right attitude. Philippians 2:5 tells us the right attitude is to have the mind of Christ. To develop the mind of Christ, we have to involve our will. Developing the mind of Christ is not automatic. The mind of Christ is what is going to help us.

For example, in the natural, some of us know we need to lose weight. I needed to lose some weight, too. I knew I needed to do so. I talked about it, and I talked about it, over and over. But until I brought my will power in line to lose that weight, I was just talking. As soon as I brought my will in line with what I knew, I began losing weight. And I am going to keep losing weight.

That is what we have to do with our attitudes. The Holy Spirit is asking us, “When are you going to get your will in line with My will?” That is the only way we are going to be blessed and exalted by God.

Nelson’s Bible Dictionary defines mind as that part of the person that thinks and reasons. Our minds should think and reason the way God thinks and reasons. What He thinks and reasons is already written in His word. So, we have to bring our minds and attitudes in line with God’s Word.

In Philippians 2, the Greek word for mind is phroneo. It means to exercise the mind, to entertain or to have a sentiment or an opinion; to interest oneself with concern or obedience; to set affection in, be like, or to savor and to think. We are to exercise our minds to the point that we develop the mind of Christ. We are to entertain and meditate the Word of God, because meditating the Word of God will cause us to have the mind of Christ.

God wants us to develop His intelligence and to get rid of our so-called intelligence. God’s intelligence will set us free, will get us what we need, and will direct us in the paths we need to follow.
