“There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen. 39:9 KJV)
Understanding how Satan attacks us can be the difference between our victory and defeat. But keeping our eye single on the Word of God will always bring success.
Joseph was a man that feared God. When he was in threatening situations, he knew to always honor God in his response to the issues. Satan went after Joseph in the flesh realm. Let’s look at his response.
Satan’s desire is to crush Joseph in the first place. However, Joseph rises to the top of a bad situation and is serving in Potiphar’s house. But you must know that even when you’re in the will of God, Satan will continue to try to knock you out.
But Joseph is proof that God has a way of elevating you wherever you are. Don’t get upset because you got knocked out for a moment; You will rise again. If you follow God, and when you rise again, Satan’s going to try to do to you what he did to Joseph.
Satan used Potiphar’s wife to appeal to Joseph’s flesh. She waited until Potiphar was away, and went after Joseph. Now Joseph was a man like most men. The woman said “He’s not home. Nobody will know it. It’s just you and me.” He gets to choose what he wants. But all along this is Satan’s plot to stop the success that awaits Joseph. Consequently, Joseph is thrown into the dungeon because of the lie Potiphar’s wife told on him. But he eventually rises to the top again.
One way that Satan tries to stop the power of God in your life is to tempt you with something that appeals to your flesh. But if you do what Joseph did, and run from that situation, you will stay on the course God has for you. It is vital that you remain aware of these ways to sway you so that you can be ready when it comes.
Satan doesn’t stop coming. So you must always be aware of his tactics. Because of Joseph’s diligence and determination to follow God only, he became the second man in command in all of Egypt.
And promotion awaits you as you decide to follow God no matter how the enemy comes. Recognize his tactics. It is only the devil who will push you to go against godly principles. God has blessings for you to partake of and you can enjoy them through daily standing steadfast on the Word of God.
