And the fruit of Righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
(James 3:18)
The Amplified version of this passage of scripture reads: “Now the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God’s will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace … ‘
What is the harvest of righteousness? It is conforming to God’s will in thought and in deed. The will of God is the very righteousness of God. So then righteousness in a person is the harvest, the fruit, the result of a seed that was sown in peace.
Every seed sown always produces a harvest. Where there is a seed sown, there is a harvest on its way. If you want to, 1) know God’s will, & then 2) experience Gods will in your life, it must start with a particular seed sown.
What is the seed that we must sow? The Word of God. In Mark chapter four, Jesus tells us that the Word of God is the seed a person must sow in their heart. For example, Peter tells us that we are born again not by a corruptible seed, but by an incorruptible seed which is the Word of God.
If we are going to experience the harvest of salvation in our life, than we must plant the seed of God’s Word concerning salvation. If we want a harvest of healing in our life, then we must plant the seed of God’s Word concerning healing!
You see Gods Word is His will. Isaiah 55:8 declares: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are My ways your ways, saith the Lord.” Some people try to tell us that we can never know what God wants or what He will do. That is not true. He plainly tells us in this passage of scripture that the reason we do not know His way is because we do not know His thoughts.
The word “way” here means “the course of life, or the path you are on, or the type of journey you are taking in life.” The path or journey your are taking and the experiences you encounter can be the path that God walks in and enjoys, or it can be a path where evil resides. It is all up to you and I . God is inferring here that if you think His thoughts, than your ways will be His ways.
Romans 12:2 tells us “And be not conformed to this world (their way, their path of life) but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove, (or live out) what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” The will of God is His Word.
Jeremiah 1:8 tells us that when we mediate in His Word then we will be able to observe to DO that Word. When we allow the Word of God to transform our thinking, we are allowing his Word to become our thoughts. When our thoughts become His thoughts, then our ways will become His Ways. We will produce in our lives a harvest of righteousness, which is conformity to His will in thought and in deed.
When 1 Peter 2:24 (“By His stripes ye were healed.”) becomes your main thought concerning sickness and disease, than you will begin to think that you are the healed, and then you will begin living your life like you are healed. As a result you will then begin walking down the path of healing and divine health, instead of one that is plagued with sickness and disease.
When Romans 6:18 “Being then made free from sin…” begins dominating your thought life, then you will begin to act as if you are free from that temptation and sin which would so easily catch you and control you. You will begin living sin free in an sin infected world!
Glory to God! Begin planting the seeds of Gods word in your heart and mind today. Begin thinking His thoughts and you will begin producing a harvest of righteousness in your life today!
