“For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace” (Isa. 55:12).
The first time this verse ever came to me was in a moment of great need. I had just graduated from a Bible school with an evangelistic call on my life. Only one door was opened to my wife and me. An invitation came to hold several meetings, but there were problems.
We had a small, light, ten-year-old car, which was totally incapable of making the long trip from California to the Colorado mountain town to which we had been invited. In order to accept the invitation, we knew that we would have to sell our old car and purchase a newer one and a travel trailer.
Realizing we needed divine help, we parked the car by an open field in the San Fernando Valley and prayed to the Lord for guidance, direction, and assistance. A peaceful calm filled the car and this verse came to us: “…you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace.”
Immediately our outlook changed from reticent uncertainty to confident assurance.
In the next 90 days the Lord restructured our transportation system by supplying us with a newer, heavier car and a travel trailer. He also sent us the cash we needed for travel expenses. We made the trip and arrived safe and sound and ready for revival. The joy and peace that accompanied us was very real.
This verse knows no geographical limitation, time restriction, financial hindrance, physical confinement, or legal blockage. It applies equally to everyone who is working for the Lord and doing His will. It is a Word just for you!
