At the Feet of Jesus

by Dick Mills | The Spirit Filled Believer

“I will make the place of My feet glorious” (Isa. 60:13 NKJ).

I had been fasting and praying for a miracle ministry of signs and wonders. My request was for the life and ministry of Jesus to be duplicated in me. After the fast was over, a godly person gave me this encouraging word: “Jesus is going to manifest Himself to you real soon. It will be according to His timetable and on His terms.”

Shortly afterwards, I was leading in worship when the Lord spoke to me and said, “Have the people come down to the front of the church and kneel in a state of expectant waiting.”

I positioned myself at the altar between two elderly sisters who had a great prayer life. I was young at the time and felt that if I were near them, some of their saintly qualities might rub off on me.

Suddenly I had a vision of Jesus coming down in our midst. The thing I noticed most about Him was His feet. It looked as though they were made of dazzling fine brass, highly refined (Rev. 1:15). The Lord spoke to me and gave me a verse from Isaiah. Then He gave me this word of admonition:

“Men seek for earthly honors, worldly gain, promotion, advancement, and high position. Their quest is to ‘make it to the top.’ I am looking for people who will go the other way and sit at My feet as Mary did. I am looking for those who are willing to be lowly that I might be exalted, empty of self that I might fill them, and foolish in the eyes of the world that I might be their wisdom. I will make the place of My feet glorious. Before I ascended, I first descended. You are to do the same!”
