Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'”
(Romans 10:13-15, NIV)
This passage changed my life and destiny. I wanted to be a dentist, but one day, when I was minding my own business as a biology major in college, God interrupted my plans with this passage of Scripture. Once I read these words, I knew I couldn’t be a dentist!
How could I? If people couldn’t hear about Jesus unless I preached; if they couldn’t believe without hearing; if they couldn’t call on Him without believing in Him and if they couldn’t be saved unless they called on the Name of the Lord…I couldn’t be a dentist, I had to be a preacher! In my case, preaching/teaching the Word has been God’s full time calling and destiny for my life and I can’t imagine doing anything else!
What about you? Who needs to hear the gospel from you so they can hear, believe and call on the name of the Lord—so that…they can be saved? Today…get those beautiful feet of yours moving!
Say This:
Father, forgive me for neglecting my responsibility to preach Jesus to those around me. Lord, help me bring the good news to others in a way that they can hear, believe and call on Jesus to be saved. Help me to move my feet in the direction of those who need a “preacher” today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
