Created in the Likeness of God

by | Uncategorized

No place in the scriptures does it say believers are angels. Believers have never been angels, nor will they become angels when they die. When you die, you’re not going to be like Jimmy Stewart in the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” dealing with somebody that’s trying to get their wings by doing something good.

This is Hollywood theology. You are not an angel and you never will be an angel.

Likewise, God is not an angel. The Holy Spirit is not an angel. Jesus is not an angel. Jesus is not related to the devil. The devil is nothing more than a created angel who rose up and attempted to be like God and was cast out of heaven to earth just as the scripture said.

Satan and his band of renegade angels will all be cast into hell. Hell was not created for sinners although lost people will go there. Hell was created for fallen angels including the devil.

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels'” (Matt. 25:41).

We have something that angels don’t have. We have blood. Not only do we have our blood, we have access to the blood of Jesus who cleansed us from all unrighteousness. Angels cannot be where we are.

The Scripture says they look on and want to be where we are. “To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven; things which angels desire to look into” (1 Peter 1:12).

But they can’t be because we have been created in the likeness of God.
