What does the Bible say about working hard? Is it necessary in order to prosper?
Yes! The Bible teaches that it’s right and proper to put in a full, vigorous day of work. Notice this scripture concerning the subject of hard work.
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
(Prov. 14:23 NIV)
God intends for us to profit through hard work. That work may be with your hands or your mind. The Bible teaches that a person cannot prosper in this life unless he or she works hard.
Notice how the following scripture declares the blessings of a hard worker.
Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.
(Prov. 10:4 NIV)
I like the latter part of this Proverb. A man with diligent hands will become prosperous or successful in this life.
You may not become a millionaire by working hard, yet all your needs will be fully supplied as you work hard for a living.
